Radiology Consultations

CBCT scans, radiographic images that display patient information in 3 dimensions, can present with findings that are uncommon in Dental images and may escape the clinician’s ability to recognize them. Oral & Maxillofacial Radiologists are dental specialists trained in the manipulation and interpretation of dental and medical images such as CBCT (cone-beam computed tomography) scans, MDCT (multi-detector computed tomography) scans and radiographs such as panoramic, cephalometric, intraoral, occlusal, periapical and bitewings. Oral Radiologists are trained to detect and differential diagnose findings on radiographic images and advise the referring dentist if such a finding needs to be referred for further evaluation.
